A site visit was made to the Bar B-C Ranch from September 28 to October 2, 1991, for the purpose of assessing the landscape component of the site. An inspection of the entire site was made; an inventory of the extant landscape features was conducted; research was initiated and pertinent data obtained from the National Park Service offices in Moose and the Teton County Historical Society in Jackson. Jackson Hole has always been one of the most picturesque places in the nation, and perhaps the primary cultural landscape component of the ranch is the scenic surrounding landscape itself which is the same today as it was in 1912. The destruction or interruption of the views and vistas of the Bar B-C is the greatest threat to the site's integrity. Above all else the protection of this place of special scenic beauty should be given.
