Harpers Ferry National Historical Park preserves historic resources and commemorates the historic events that occurred at and around Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The park consists of portions of the Lower Town, the former Storer College campus, landscapes associated with the national historical park’s Civil War significance, and lands preserving the historic viewshed down the Potomac River. This Historic Structure Preservation Guide concerns Buildings No. 12 and 12a in the Lower Town area of Harpers Ferry. This preservation guide is designed to be a compact reference tool as well as a record-keeping book. It will be used by the maintenance staff in their housekeeping, maintenance, and building inspection work. The maintenance staff will keep records of these activities in this book, and add to the reference material provided herein, as repairs and alterations are made to the buildings. Only with continual updating can this guide be useful.
