A Guam Historic Properties Inventory Data Form for the Hopkins House. Description: "The homeowner was not available for comment. However, according to former longtime mayor of Agat, Tony Babauta, the house was built in the late 1940s or early 1950s and retains its original appearance. Babauta identified the original homeowner and builder as William Hopkins, which is consistent with lot ownership records and the current lot owner listing." Statement of Significance: "Given the probable 1950s age of the residence, its condition, and the paucity of other unaltered concrete structures of this type from this period in southern Guam, the Hopkins House in Agat is considered eligible for the NRHP under Criterion C. The house represents a post-World War II single-story, square-plan concrete house type with a low-pitched hip roof. The period of significance for the post-World War II structure is the period of construction in the 1950s. The Hopkins residence is in very good condition and is well-maintained. It retains integrity of location, setting, design, materials, workmanship, feeling, and association. The installation of typhoon shutters, a relatively recent addition, is an easily removable modification that does not significantly affect the building's integrity."
