Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park in Cornish, New Hampshire, preserves the home, gardens, and studios of Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848–1907), one of America's foremost sculptors. This Cultural Landscape Report concerns the Saint-Gaudens landscape, detailing its significance and assessing its integrity. The potential contexts for the Saint-Gaudens landscape are: 1) American art of the late-19th and early-20th centuries; 2) artists' colonies of the same period; 3) American residential landscape design, ca. 1890-1930, especially the Italian Renaissance revival; and 4) the historic preservation movement, ca. 1889- 1950.
