"Funded by Humanities DC, this phase of the Spring 1968 Photography and Oral History Project is designed to introduce images, videos, documents and stories about the period of 1968 in which Dr. Martin Luther King's Poor People's Campaign came to DC in the form of Resurrection City (May 12 - June 24), on the National Mall as the most significant symbol of his campaign. Most of the images, in print and online presented here document the Resurrection City project." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office, Office of Planning, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P17AF00101).
