Two Sides of the Same Experience video
2019. Two Sides of the Same Experience video. District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office, Office of Planning; Humanities Council of Washington DC
'Two Sides of the Same Experience' resulted in a video of an educational workshop that explores the differences experienced by male and female Filipino immigrants to Washington during the first half of the 20th century. The project explored the significance of the Manila House, an important fixture for the immigrants. The project relied heavily upon the Filipino American Community Archives in the Hornbake Library at the University of Maryland at College Park. Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office, Office of Planning, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P18AF00072).
