"Each year, the Bureau of Cultural & Historical Preservation announces to all 16 states of the Republic the availability of funds for site rehabilitation project provided by the US National Park Service. This year, the amount of the grant fund was was $3,000.00 to help assist the state as well as provide incentive for the community to maintain their registered sites... The applications are reviewed and ranked by the number of points each application has. The higher the score, the more likely the application is selected. Based on the applications themselves, in terms of organization, justification, selection of site, and a well-thought out plan. Ngchesar State Government was the recipient of the Site Rehabilitation Fund Grant through the Bureau of [Cultural and Historical Preservation] and the U.S. National Park Service." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Palau Historic Preservation Office, Bureau of Cultural and Historical Preservation, Ministry of Community & Cultural Affairs, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
