From the home page: "Iawke! Welcome to the Marshall Islands Stories website. The Marshall Islands Story Project seeks to preserve the rich culture of the Marshall Islands by gathering life stories and traditional tales from Marshallese elders. Central to the Project is the involvement of Marshallese students in the preservation process." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Marshall Islands State Historic Preservation Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
