This standard operating procedure (SOP) outlines general considerations and procedures for installing fixed-station data sonde housings. Given the diverse nature of parks and waterbodies served by the Southeast Coast Network estuarine water and sediment quality monitoring protocol (Gregory et al. 2013), sonde housing configurations vary among locations. For this reason, this SOP is intentionally general and offers a range of considerations and options for housing installations. All housing configurations are designed to protect the sonde, increase deployment duration, and increase data quality. Site specific configuration information is maintained as an internal working document.
