This is the Energy and Water Conservation Plan for the Wildlife Refuge. This report documents opportunities to save money through more efficient use of electricity, other fuels and water for the two buildings at this facility. Visitor Center, Physical description of structures: This 3,300 square foot, concrete block building is open to the public 7 days a week. The 27-year old structure includes a flat built up roof, and double glazed windows. A 720 square foot trailer has been added to the South side of the building to accommodate office space needs. Building 101, Physical description of structures: This 50-year old ranch style house with an attached garage has been converted into office space. The wood frame house includes wooden, double-hung windows with exterior storm windows. The roof is constructed of a sloped wooden deck with asphalt shingles.
