Heath B, Blanton D, Horning A, McCartney M, Rehm KG. 2001. Jamestown Archeological Assessment. Colonial National Historical Park. History Series.. National Park Service. Washington, DC
The handbook focuses on the Jamestown Archeological Assessment project that began in 1992. The Assessment, a partnership between the NPS, the College of William and Mary, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, examined six decades of archeology previously conducted by the National Park Service at Jamestown Island, VA. . The resulting research shed new light on the seventeenth-century development of the colonial settlement as well as the entire span of time from the island's ice-age origins to its twentieth-century status as a national park.
