Carlson JE and Toussel M. 2022. Two-Year Report for Amphibian Monitoring at Gulf Islands National Seashore 2020-2022. Gulf Coast I&M Network, Lafayette, LA

This 2-page brief summarizes the 2020-2022 sampling seasons for amphibian monitoring at Gulf Islands National Seashore. The park has two study sites in the Naval Live Oaks area , with each site containing 32 coverboards on the ground and 60 or 64 PVC pipes hung from trees. Field crews visit each site once every other month and record the amphibian species and numbers of individuals inside each pipe or under each board. Three treefrog species are regularly found inside PVC pipes: pinewoods treefrog, green treefrog and squirrel treefrog. Under coverboards, one species is regularly detected: the non-native greenhouse frog.
