Long-term Data Management (LTDM) Project

NPS Inventory & Monitoring Division. Long-term Data Management (LTDM) Project. 2017. National Park Service

The purpose of the Long-term Data Management (LTDM) project is to ensure that all IMD data are usable, accessible, and secure well into the future, and that all data systems comply with federal regulations. The LTDM Task Force (2016-2017) was the first phase of the project. The task force examined the long-term requirements of IMD data systems, analyzed options, and recommended a solution, the "remodeled Data Store," which was approved by the IMD Leadership Team. Their work and recommendations are contained in the LTDM Task Force Report. The work continues with the LTDM Governance Board and the workgroups/teams that they create to tackle specific tasks. LTDM work is currently driven by the Implementation Plan, and the impact of their work can be seen in updates to the NPS DataStore application.
