The September 2024 draft of the updated National Historic Landmark documentation for Monocacy Battlefield will be considered by the National Park System Advisory Board (NPSAB) at its meeting on December 9-10, 2024. The updated National Historic Landmark (NHL) documentation for Monocacy Battlefield in Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland documents its national significance under NHL Criterion 1 for its association with the Civil War Battle of Monocacy. The period of national significance is July 8-10, 1864, the dates of the battle.
