The Tin Camp is recommended eligible to the NRHP under Criterion A), for the property’s association with the second wave of mining in the Mojave Desert during the Great Depression, and the subsequent development, occupation, and abandonment of the Sagamore Mine. The period of significance extends from 1930 to 1945; a period bookmarked by the reoccupation of Sagamore Mine and the end of productive mining at the site. The NPS contracted with Logan Simpson to perform the NRHP eligibility assessment of the 1930s portion of the Sagamore Mine, located in the New York Mining District of Mojave National Preserve.
