Horseshoe Lake Trail Consensus Determination of Eligibility (CDOE) with supporting text, sources, maps, and photographs. SHPO Concurrence Letter is included with the CDOE. Documents find the Horseshoe Lake Trail is eligible for listing in the NRHP under Criterion A at the local level in the areas of Entertainment/Recreation and Transportation for its setting as some of the first interpretive hikes at the Park, for its association with the formation of the interpretive program at the Park, and as it is the first formally constructed trail in the Park. With a Period of Significance from 1940 - Present. The Consensus Determination of Eligibility process allows Federal decision makers, in consultation with SHPOs, FPOs, or THPOs, and other consulting parties to assess a resource for listing in the NRHP. If they agree that it meets NRHP criteria the property is treated as eligible for purposes of compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
