This report was prepared to assist the park in planning and development in the Denali National Park and Headquarters Area. It addresses all of the immediate and long range needs of the existing structures in the Headquarters District (14 structures) and Wonder Lake Ranger Station. The proposed plan combines new construction with historic building rehabilitation. All the buildings in this report are in the ownership of the National Park Service. With the exception of the Wonder Lake Ranger Station, all are within the Mt. McKinley Park Headquarter Historic District. Volume 1 contains project information, administrative data, archeological data, and physical history and analysis for eight buildings in the district (Employee Residences,Wonder Lake Ranger Station, Administration Building, Employee Residence, Superintendents Residence, Naturalist Building ("Overthere"), Carpenter Shop).
