This database includes all data related to the on-going wetlands inventory and mapping project performed by GRSM Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) staff from May 2010 to April 2017. Also included in this database are data collected during a 2004-2005 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) performed by park contractors, and a 2016 high-elevation seep study conducted by outside researchers. All GRSM I&M wetlands identification and mapping were conducted in the field, and conformed to the U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Interim Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Eastern Mountains and Piedmont Region (Version 2). Under National Park Service D.O. #77.1 guidelines, the USACE methodology is appropriate for wetland features possessing vegetation and soils. All of the identified and mapped wetlands were palustrine, and met both the USACE and the NPS Procedural Manual #77-1 criteria. The minimum field-mapping unit (MMU) for wetland polygons was 0.01 ha (10x10 m). Wetlands which fell below the MMU were documented as “point features”.
