National Invasive Species Information Management System (NISIMS)
Sieracki J, Budde P, Hogan T. 2014. National Invasive Species Information Management System (NISIMS). Data is maintained on an NPS server. Reports may be accessed at the NISIMS website (https://irma.nps.gov/NISIMS).
This reference describes the NPS version of NISIMS, which contains data on invasive plants. Information collected by NISIMS includes survey efforts, treatment efforts on biological, chemical, fire, manual, mechanical, and revegetation treatments, infestation status, and site conditions. Data are maintained as polygons. The Exotic Plant Management Team program was first required to enter data into NISIMS beginning with FY14. Some data previous to this does exist, but most legacy data is maintained exclusively in APCAM, a non-spatial data management system.
