Vegetation Mapping Inventory Projects for Alaska Region

Vegetation Mapping Inventory Projects for Alaska Region. 1997-2015

This project is a compilation of the Alaska region vegetation and soil inventories, some which are related to the NPS Vegetation Mapping Inventory Program. Projects referenced contain the results of the efforts to survey, compile, analyze, and map ecosystems, landcover classes, and soils. The Alaska Regional Inventory and Monitoring Program manages the base cartography, soils and vegetation inventories for national parks in Alaska. Nine other inventories, which complete the set of inventories that form the baseline of biological and physical information in national parks, are managed through a combination of national, network, and park efforts. Alaska encompasses 16 park units that make up 65% of the acreage managed by the National Park Service throughout the country.
