This report section includes the architectural data on the Antietam Aqueduct, a three span structure bridging Antietam Creek in the vicinity of Sharpsburg, Maryland. It was constructed of cut local stone during the years 1832-1835. The report describes the features of the structure, and the HABS drawings included show dimensions and masonry details. The structure had suffered neglect following the suspension of canal operations. This section is part of the Historic Structures Report for Antietam Aqueduct that recommends the stabilization measures which would have to be instituted to prevent further deterioration.
