This report presents the results of a documentary study of the history of the construction of the Paw Paw Tunnel on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. This information was useful to the planned restoration and interpretation of this feature. The Paw Paw Tunnel is an outstanding example of its particular type of architecture.
