Harpers Ferry National Historical Park preserves historic resources and commemorates the historic events that occurred at and around Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The park consists of portions of the Lower Town, the former Storer College campus, landscapes associated with the national historical park’s Civil War significance, and lands preserving the historic viewshed down the Potomac River. This historic building report concerns the Roeder Buildings (Bldgs. 16 and 16a). The exterior of the building is to be restored to its 1859-1865 appearance. It is suggested that the interior of the structure be used as an architectural exhibit to show the original construction and the progressive stages of historical and architectural research that culminated in the restoration of the building.
