Harpers Ferry National Historical Park preserves historic resources and commemorates the historic events that occurred at and around Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The park consists of portions of the Lower Town, the former Storer College campus, landscapes associated with the national historical park’s Civil War significance, and lands preserving the historic viewshed down the Potomac River. This Historic Structure Report concerns the New Master Armorer's Quarters (Bldg. 36), located on Shenandoah Street in Lower Town, Harpers Ferry. It is proposed that, because of its connection with the Armory, its accessibility, and availability, the building is ideal for a small branch museum telling the story of the Armory, Arsenal, and Hall Rifle Works. The exterior of the House is to be restored to its historic period. The interior of the first floor will also be restored and the second floor interior rehabilitated.
