From the report: "Each year, the Bureau of Arts and Culture announces to all 16 states of the Republic the availability of funds for site rehabilitation project provided by the US National Park Service. This year, the amount of the grant fund was $2,200.00 to help assist the state as well as provide incentive for the community to maintain their registered sites. ...For the FY '09 Site Restoration Project, the winning state was Ngiwal to restore and rehabilitate the Bai er a Olilai platform which is the main bai platform for the Ngellau Traditional Village..." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Palau Historic Preservation Office, Bureau of the Arts and Culture, Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
