Description of Changes between Planned and Actual Major Work Elements: "To rehabilitate the Bai er a Olilai platform; expose rock alignment surrounding the features of the bai platform; expose the stone path leading to the site. [However], some rock alignments were deeply buried due to extensive erosion and thick vegetation prior to project. As a precautionary measure, the rocks deeply buried remained in place underground. Major alteration on the site might aggravate unanticipated adverse effect." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Palau Historic Preservation Office, Bureau of Arts & Culture, Ministry of Communication & Cultural Affairs, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number 70-09-21863).
