Practical Preservation: National Register of Historic Places, The Basics
Michigan State Historic Preservation Office. 2022. Practical Preservation: National Register of Historic Places, The Basics. National Park Service, National State Historic Preservation Office. Michigan
This bulletin serves as an explanation for the purpose and work of the National Register of Historic Places. The bulletin explains what the National Register is, how and why locations are nominated and registered, who can make a nomination, and finishes by deconstructing myths about the process of adding a property to the National Register. Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office, administered by the State Tribal Local Plans and Grants Division (P22AF01138).
