Preservation Through Partnership: An Introduction to the Certified Local Government Program

Michigan State Historic Preservation Office. 2021. Preservation Through Partnership: An Introduction to the Certified Local Government Program. National Park Service, Michigan State Historic Preservation Office. Michigan

This document is designed to educate Michigan citizens, particularly those looking to further engage with local historic preservation, about how the Certified Local Government Program can aid them in efforts. It begins with an explanation of what the CLG program is, the role the program has played in Michigan, and how to form a CLG for future historic preservation. The practice of Preservation through Partnership, and the collaborative efforts of multiple organizations is the main appeal of the CLG program. Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office, administered by the State Tribal Local Plans and Grants Division (P22AF01138).
