Inventory and Assessment Program, Species Inventory.
The species inventories program facilitates the collection of new data about species occurrence, abundance, or distribution in National Park Service units to inform park management decisions and planning. Inventories are carried out by a project team consisting of stakeholders from park units, Inventory & Monitoring networks, regional offices, the Inventory Program, and external cooperators and partners. These inventories are a part of the Inventory and Monitoring Division's Inventory and Assessment Program. For more information go here: https://www.nps.gov/im/species-inventories.htm This program is a continuation of 2 of the original 12 Inventories: Species Lists and Species Occurrence and Distribution Inventories from 2000-2010 with the purpose of collecting basic species information on vertebrates and vascular plants in 270 park units. Only products specifically conducted under this revised species inventory will be included in this program record. The projects linked here are targeted in species scope and directly inform park decision making.
