Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Cultural Landscape Report - Part II, 2026 Update

Vireo and STRATA Architecture. 2026. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Cultural Landscape Report - Part II, 2026 Update. Cultural Landscape Report. National Park Service. Interior Regions 3, 4, 5

This document is an amendment to the 2004 Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) for Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve and was prepared in support of the TAPR 334923 (Rehabilitate Lantry Area & Spring Hill Barn) project. It provides targeted updates to existing conditions and treatment recommendations for Management Zones 4 and 6. This update is intended to supplement the 2004 CLR, which remains the foundational document for site history, landscape analysis, and comprehensive treatment guidance, and should be consulted in conjunction with this document. The 2004 CLR for the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve organized the Preserve into 11 distinct management zones, each with their own unique treatment recommendations. This update focuses on recommendations for Spring Hill Ranch Barn and landscape, located in Management Zone 4, “ZBar/Spring Hill Ranch Headquarters”; and the Deer Park Place cultural resources in Management Zone 6 “Deer Park Place.”
