This document describes and illustrates the recommended work necessary for the comprehensive rehabilitation of Crater Lake Lodge. This proposed work was planned to be accomplished under two construction contracts, one in FY 91 and one in FY 92. The proposed rehabilitation work that is described in this report and illustrated in the accompanying drawings includes: - Structural reinforcement and stabilization of the foundations, masonry walls, and wood superstructure. - The complete replacement and upgrading of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life-safety systems. - New guest rooms which will include full bathrooms. - Restoration of the exterior. - Restoration of the Lobby and Dining Room. - Reconstruction of the Great Hall Wing and its major public space, the Great Hall. - New interior finishes and furnishings. - New kitchen and staff area. - New basements under the Great Hall and Lobby. Portions of the proposed rehabilitation work were being developed in companion design documents.
