Glen Canyon National Recreation Area for hundreds of miles, from Lees Ferry in Arizona to the Orange Cliffs of southern Utah, encompassing scenic vistas, geologic wonders, and a vast panorama of human history. The Penthouse (42SA624) and Angry Ridge Ruin (42SA5485), neighboring sites in Lake Canyon, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (GLCA), were documented and assessed for their stabilization needs in October 1984. The following year, October 1985, both sites were stabilized. The work was performed by Nickens and Associates of Montrose, Colorado under terms of a multiyear stabilization contract (CX-1200-3-A074) between that firm and the National Park Service, Rocky Mountain Region. All three structures at The Penthouse were stabilized, and both structures at Angry Ridge were stabilized. Most of the work involved minor repairs. The two Angry Ridge structures also required complete backfilling. Both sites were placed in stable condition. This report documents the 1984 and 1985 work and also includes monitoring and maintenance recommendations for both sites to insure their long-term preservation.
